ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to detect the presence of Avian Influenza antibody subtype H5N1 on stray cats (Felis silvestris catus) in several places in Semarang such as Johar, Bandarejo, Babatan, Bitingan dan Kobong traditional markets. The samples for HI test were collected from sera of stray cats that have been added RDE (Reseptor Destroying enzyme) (3:1). HI test is positive when inhibition of agglutination is shown, that is signed by hemagglutination on the base of microplate’s wells. The result showed that from 30 samples, there were 10 samples that had Avian Influenza antibody subtype H5N1. The percentage of the presence of Avian Influenza antibody subtype H5N1 was 33,33%.
